TEH FARM

Poggio Moretto is a rustic house situated in Tuscany, in the heart of Maremma countryside, where it is still possible to find old cultivations and farmer customs.

Peace and quiet can be found in this place, where the beauty of the nature enchants every person. The hilly landscape, surrounding Poggio Moretto, is characterized by typical wheat cultivations, vineyards, fodder plants, olive groves and Mediterranean bush.

But the landscape offers the overview of Albegna river too. For ages, this river has been to the centre of Maremma farmer legends and songs.

The Poggio Moretto farm is 74 hectares wide on hilly land. The farm produces wine, olive oil, wheat, oats and fodder plants, in an integrated agriculture system.

A part of the land is pasture for the numerous sheep. Their milk is used to produce the Pecorino cheese D.O.P of “Caseificio Sociale di Manciano” (Manciano  Dairy).

But walking through the farm, it is possible to see the other animals: rabbits, hens, ducks and cows, about 20, grazing generally in a wild state into the farm’s bush.
